ife can be a beautiful journey, filled with Joy and Love, but it can also be challenging, and sometimes we find ourselves stuck in a place where it feels impossible to move forward. We all have moments in our lives when we feel overwhelmed, scared, and unsure of what to do next. This is a natural part of our human experience, part of bridging from what is now outdated for us and into new experiences, and it is important to remember that we are not alone. It’s ‘Life
These are extremely confusing and potent times: evolutionary energies are moving very fast. We are dealing, too, with the aftermath of the last few years of major disconnection and despair. Many conventional and spiritual strategies and practices that worked before are simply no longer working, or they are not working fast enough to keep up with the acceleration and keep us stable and successfully navigating.
Trauma is a major reason why we get stuck in life and feel paralyzed or incapable of moving forward. Trauma is any event that threatens our safety, our sense of self, or our beliefs about the world. Trauma can be caused by physical abuse, sexual abuse, emotional abuse, neglect, war, or natural disasters. Trauma can also be caused by less severe events, such as a breakup, a job loss, a health diagnosis, or even decisions we make about ourselves or life circumstances when we perhaps did not have the benefit of a greater perspective.
Trauma can be recent, belong to our distant pasts. It can even be ancestral. Trauma, though, can leave us feeling disconnected from ourselves and others, from our passion and agency, and it can cause us to feel stuck in life.
If you are feeling stuck because of trauma, know that it is possible to liberate yourself. Liberation begins with acknowledging the trauma and the impact it has had on your life. It is important to validate your experience as important and real for you, and to seek support from others who can empathize with what you are going through. A therapist, a
support group, or a trusted friend can be a great source of comfort, perspective and guidance.
Healing from trauma takes time, patience, and compassion. It is important to be gentle with yourself as you navigate the healing process. Trauma necessitates that you become your own best, wise friend.
You may feel a range of emotions, such as anger, sadness, fear, or shame, and it is important to allow yourself to notice, become aware of and feel these emotions without judgment. Emotions are a natural part of the healing process, they are neither ‘good’ nor ‘bad’: they are indicators of energy, and acknowledging them can help you release the trauma from your body and mind. They are your internal guides.
One powerful way to liberate yourself from trauma is through spiritual practices and various therapies. Spiritual practices such as meditation, prayer, yoga, or mindfulness can help you connect with your inner self and cultivate a sense of peace and calm. Therapies such as massage, craniosacral work, breathwork, kinesiology and many others can also help resolve and liberate trauma.
Additionally, we are experiencing a global ‘psychedelics renaissance’. Psilocybin Therapy (mushrooms) is fast gaining momentum for addressing anxiety, depression, addiction, and PTSD due to the failures of our existing frameworks.
However, psilocybin (and other psychedelics) is also a conduit for dramatic personal transformation, growth, and healing. By bypassing our usual egoic defenses and reframing our root traumas, and as combined with other therapies, it can free us from fighting battles of the past, as well as dissolve trauma and the maladaptive strategies we have in place in our lives, and that may be hurting us.
The upcoming ‘Ancient Medicine Journey for Men and Women’ in Mexico in November will be using a number of the above strategies to help people break through into greater liberation and creation. More info soon.
Overall, these can help you release the negative thoughts, emotions, beliefs and patterns that are re-traumatizing you and keeping you stuck and allow you to tap into your intuition, inner strength and resilience.
You can then experience the world, your life, relationships and purpose in new ways, and bring wisdom, freedom and empowerment back into your life. You bring back passion, purpose and stability. You open to feeling interconnected to nature, yourself, others and the Universe, and that you matter.
Remember, you are not your trauma. You are a beautiful being who deserves love, joy, and peace. You have the power within you to liberate yourself from the pain of the past and create a brighter, more fulfilling future.
Take a deep breath and believe in yourself. You can do this.
